Introduction to Merchandising Course
The Introduction to Merchandising course will cover the planning, development and implementation of a strategy and how to sell products that meet sales and profit targets. Participants will learn merchandising concepts and practises important for long term success in the jewellery industry.

In the segment covering planning, development and implementation of a strategy, participants will:
- Develop an understanding of the domestic jewellery marketplace and its target markets
- Learn how to choose a market position and appropriately target customers for the same
- Learn about relevant product assortment development, planning and marketing
In the segment covering how to
sell products that meet sales and profit
targets, participants will:
- Learn concepts of budgeting and forecasting
- Learn how to develop category and price point plans
- Learn how to make manufacturing and buying decisions
- Understand the concept of product inventory management (including sales and profit criteria)
- Learn how to use visual merchandising strategies to maximise the sales process
