Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS), 125-year-old parent body, has been committed to "Empowerment of Women through Education". The Pune-based institution works relentlessly towards educating women and thereby making them self-reliant. MKSSS was established in 1896 by the social worker Bharat Ratna Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve to provide shelter to destitute women.<br><br>MKSSS has branches all over Maharashtra, India, and has more than 35,000 girl students learning across 65+ educational and other units under its umbrella. These units are located at Pune, Satara, Wai, Ratnagiri, Nagpur, Kamshet and Vasai. All these units are meant exclusively for girls or women. The institution offers education from kindergarten, pre-primary, primary, secondary, higher secondary schools to higher education colleges. At present, the institution also offers higher education units like Engineering, Architecture, Management, Nursing, Fashion Technology, Vocational Training Institute, Laser Technology & Applications, Jewellery Design and more. With the changing trends in the jobs market, courses such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Laser Technology, Automotive Mechatronics are also planned.<br><br>MKSSS had many ongoing projects during the year, of which GIA India Laboratory Private Limited has contributed towards smart boards and internet connectivity in 53 classrooms at the Karve Nagar campus, Pune, and thereby, promoted education as a part of its CSR contribution for the year ended on March 31, 2023.
Veerayatan was founded with the mission to work towards the care of humanity through health, education, and spirituality without distinction. It is based on three core pillars: SEVA " service to humanity, SHIKSHA " education, and SADHANA " spiritual development for inner peace. GIA India Laboratory Private Limited had contributed towards providing safe and clean drinking water as a part of its CSR contribution for the year ended on March 31, 2021. In the current year - based on Veeryatan’s request - GIA India Laboratory Private Limited provided additional funding to meet the shortfall for completing the project.
The Udayan Shalini Fellowship (USF) is a leadership programme for girls. The organisation was setup in 2002 with 72 girls; the programme has since expanded, and as of December 2022, it has 32 chapters spread across 13 states. The organisation has inducted over 12,737 girls, out of whom 4,500+ are already graduates in different disciplines. The rest, who are called ‘Shalini’s’, are pursuing education in fields like Engineering, Medical, Chartered Accountancy, Company Secretary, Nursing, Computer Science and more.<br><br>The USF programme provides financial support to deserving girl students from government and government-aided schools and helps them continue their education; the programme also provides individual attention, counselling, and grooming sessions to these girls through personalised mentoring programmes. GIA India Laboratory Private Limited, for the year ended March 31, 2023, has contributed towards the opening of a new USF chapter in Surat, Gujarat, by providing 50 girl students with education for six years.
TIDE was set up in 2003 by ten like-minded friends for the upliftment of the poor and disadvantaged tribal people. The organisation works for the cause and care of the tribal communities by improving their quality of life through education, healthcare, income generation and microcredit groups.<br><br>GIA India Laboratory Private Limited has contributed to building a residential facility near a school for tribal students to reside and study on the same campus. Both buildings are part of the 80-acre land used for the benefit of students. This is an ongoing project as the construction site is in a remote village and the need is to build an eco-friendly and weather-friendly structure. The funds have been parked in a separate bank account for disbursement towards this project in the current year.
