Update on GIA India Operations in Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)
GIA has been taking the necessary precautions to ensure everyone’s health and safety, which include reducing our service hours and closing some locations. The situation is changing rapidly, and here’s the latest update for locations in India:
The Mumbai laboratory is open for intake of polished stones with limited staff and modified hours, and clients may submit stones in person with an appointment. To schedule an appointment and receive instructions for stone return, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Surat laboratory is open with limited staff Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and is accepting submissions of polished stones up to 0.70 ct. At this time, the laboratory will only accept and return stones using a courier service. Please email email@example.com if you have any questions.
Beginning August 5, the New Delhi campus will reopen at a limited capacity. Safety measures such as wearing a mask, frequently sanitizing hands and maintaining social distancing will be applicable at all times. Please contact the campus at firstname.lastname@example.org or call +91 22 4085 1500 if you have any questions.
The Mumbai campus and classrooms in Surat do not currently have a set date for resuming instruction. The safety of students, instructors and staff is very important to GIA and we are closely monitoring the situation. The campus will open when state and local government restrictions are lifted. Upon reopening, the campus will carefully follow the health and safety regulations required by local health officials.
